Wow. In the dance world we have what we refer to as show hangover. Definition: the overwhelming emotions, exhaustion and energy release that one gets after the last night of a big performance, which usually culminates months and months of rehearsals. BlogPaws has given me conference hangover, and I'm still feeling it. Musta been one heck of a party to still feel hungover!
Miah didn't even wait for the conference to be over before she took a purposeful nose dive into what looked like a comfy box. That decision can only be attributed to conference buzz. Good thing because at her age it's the only buzz she's allowed! Well, that and the performance itself.

There is so much to share from BlogPaws 2011, but right now I want to at least share the short interview I did with Rescue Ink while we were there. I think it would be great to have them come to MY school!!

I wanted to share this sad story with a happy ending for the wolf pups that were rescued. I'm looking forward to watching them grow up through pictures from the Wolfwood Refuse and Adoption Center. It's in CO so maybe I'll even get to visit them!! I would LOVE to play with wolf puppies!

Looks like CO is taking a step towards helping animals! There is a new partnership between the Colorado Humane Society and metro Denver Crime Stoppers that allows people to report animal abuse anonymously and even possible get a reward for it. I'm hoping this means more people will have the courage to step up and say something. Call 720-913-STOP (7867) or give your tip online . I know you can't change every animal's life, but you can change a life for one animal and still make a BIG difference!
Here is the story from our local news channel...now, if only we could get rid of BSL...

Some lucky person out there is going to win a trip to BlogPaws 2011 in Tysons Corner, VA! For a few reasons that person won't be me. First, I'm considered family and not eligible. Second, and most important, I am lucky enough to already by sponsored by Found Animals! To me that is the most exciting news, but I can't wait to see someone be as excited as me when they win the photo caption contest and we get to meet at BlogPaws!

I recently found out about an upcoming fundraising event called Ella's Walk. Ella's Walk is a walk to raise money for the Longmont Humae Society in memory of Meredith Hope Emerson. The idea is to continue the loving legacy of Mereidth, the Longmont resident who was tragically killed in 2008 while hiking in Georgia. Meredith adopted her black Labrador Retriever mix, Ella, from a rescue organization. After Meredith's death Ella, now 4, moved in with the Emerson family in Longmont. The walk's goal is to inspire and raise $50,000 to help take care of 5,000 animals and help them find loving homes. Registration for the walk starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 22nd. You can also register online any time before the walk here.
There is no cost to register, although a ten dollar donation is encouraged. You just have to be ready to walk at 9:30 a.m., or do what I am doing and just market and try to help raise funds! The walk is at Boulder County Fairgrounds Picnic Shelter Park in Longmont, Colorado. The walk is three miles long and after the walk participants are encouraged to stay for The Furry Friends Festival, where many fun and cool events will be happening. I am sad that I cannot participate in the walk, but I'm hoping I can help by exceeding the goal I set of $150. If you would like to donate to my cause ANYTHING makes a difference! Or, please consider participating yourself. The more the merrier!!

Rewind 8 weeks and I was getting ready to head to FL for the Global Pet Expo. At that point I really had no idea what I was in store for. I knew FL. Pack for summer outside and winter inside. But, a huge Expo with over 2300 booths, I had no idea what to expect.
Now that it has come and gone I can confidently say, “it was one of the most enjoyably, overwhelming experiences I’ve ever had.” I still feel brain overload when I start to think about all the people I met and the products I saw. And to know that there were many things I never had a chance to see pushes my brain to that near explosion point.
Along the way I encountered things that stuck out. Things I found to be either entertaining or remarkable or highly valuable! Here are my top 5 product related items. This list does not include the products that we are or are going to be testing. Those will get there own posts in the near future!
For my top 5 non-product list, hop over to BlogPaws. There are some adorable, must see things there!!
In no particular order:
Best idea for recycling bike tubes - I’m a fan of anything recycled, but these were cool!
Best cat product - What cat wouldn’t have fun in these?
Best fish tank - because it made me want to get fish again.
Best looking dog treats - that I really wanted to eat myself.
Best new toy - because I’m always looking for fun, safe things to occupy my pups when I leave.
Don’t forget to keep checking back for our other Pet Expo reviews and interviews. We have a video in the works about how easy it is to make Freezy Pups. An interview we are working on with Zuke's, and we’ll be making Pet Cakes and Paw Ornaments! Our Greyhound, Twiggy, is also testing out a Kurgo harness and we’ll be reporting on that very soon. Like I said, Global Pet Expo was overwhelming!

A Gift For Patrick Day was on Friday, April 15, 2011. It coincided with The Day of Silence. I recognized both. You can find out more about Patrick by reading this or watching my video post. For A Gift For Patrick Day you can do something to help animals in honor of him. Luckily this day was near my Birthday and I received a lot of birthday money in the past few days. I started out with 25 dollars that I was ready to donate to Mariah's Promise, a Pit Bull sanctuary that had a lot of construction to do to prevent being shut down. Then, over the weekend, I was given a lot more money. I decided I would donate 50% of my birthday money to Mariah's Promise. I ended up with $250, which means I am giving Mariah's Promise $125!! I am very excited for them and hope all goes well!! I also can't wait to visit the sanctuary in the near future.
It's not too late. If you didn't do anything in honor of Patrick yet, you still can. There are many animals and shelters that need your help. I know that things are tough right now for many people (my Mom reminds me ALL the time!) so instead of cash, maybe you have some old blankets or other items that are on a nearby shelters wish list. Every shelter has a wish list. Maybe you can make some of those wishes come true!
