Just over a week ago on Saturday night, I went to an event called Don't Kill Bill. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for the second half of the performance, but I will say the half I was able to see was amazing!!!
As you may, or may not, know Bill was rescued from from a puppy mill. He is a Boston Terrier that was taken in as an emergency foster by Kyla Duffy. Kyla (the one who made everything happen for Don't Kill Bill) fosters many dogs, but mostly Boston Terriers.
During the event we learned about how Bill went from a foster dog to Kyla's dog. When Kyla first got Bill he had kennel cough and was not in the best shape. He was really withdrawn and didn't seem very interested in anything. She let him outside along with another foster dog she had while she ran some errands. What Kyla didn't know was that she had improperly shut the gate. So after having Bill for two hours, Bill escaped out the backyard into the dark forest and stayed there for around two or three WEEKS! Finally, someone found him eating a carcass of an animal just outside of the forest. They returned him to Kyla with a cut up front leg and really underweight. During Bills time of need Kyla fell in love with him. She healed him back to health, and even watched him come out of his shell and start being a happy dog! He is now her dog and she is very fond of him!
The performance also consisted of inspiring stories about many other foster dogs and their parents. Several people went into intermission with tears in their eyes. I was told during the second half she talked about puppy mills, and I wish I could have seen that part, but what I did see was amazing! Kyla is going to be bringing the show on the road, so if you see a Don't Kill Bill near you, you must go!
Thank you.
